Origins and design
Opened in 1924 as Höchst’s main cemetery, the site lies within Unterliederbach. City architect Paul Wempe designed the grounds and ceremonial hall; Carl Rohleder’s Windthorststraße continues through the entrance as the cemetery’s main axis. The cemetery on Kurmainzer Straße is a separate, older site.
Present-day character
The grounds cover about 16.8 hectares and combine their period of origin with an active municipal cemetery. The central axis from the entrance portal to Paul Wempe’s ceremonial hall is especially distinctive.

The cemetery tour links the entrance portal, historic central axis, ceremonial hall and memorial. Burial areas and funeral ceremonies remain sensitive spaces; keep an appropriate distance and observe temporary closures.
