What makes this site distinctive
Opened in 1924 as Höchst’s main cemetery, the site lies within Unterliederbach. City architect Paul Wempe designed the grounds and ceremonial hall; Carl Rohleder’s Windthorststraße continues through the entrance as the cemetery’s main axis. The cemetery on Kurmainzer Straße is a separate, older site. For visitors, the central axis from the entrance portal to Paul Wempe’s ceremonial hall defines the site.
